Visa

It’s best to get a tourist visa prior to travelling to Bangladesh, as Visa on Arrival regulations change frequently. It is easy to get a single-entry tourist visa for up to 30 days. Requirements differ from country to country, so check with the Bangladeshi embassy in your country, or on this link. In case you chose to apply for a visa on arrival you will a copy of your passport, a copy of your hotel reservation (clearly stating the address of the hotel) and a letter of invitation to the Asian Curatorial Forum, that we would be happy to send you if you contact us. Visa can be paid in US dollars, in cash only (it is recommended that you carry small notes to pay the exact sum).

Accommodation

A wide range of accommodation options are available near the venue of the Asian Curatorial Forum in central Dhaka, ranging from the convenient to the affordable. Due to the traffic, we recommend you to stay close to the venue. Frequently recommended hotels in the area include Fars Hotel, Hotel 71 and Ambrosia guest house.

Visual arts

Visual arts are thriving in Dhaka and the city hosts several high profile international art events each year. In fact the reputed photography festival ChobiMela is taking place at the same time, and in the same venue, as the Asian Curatorial Forum. The programme of the Forum will also include presentations by various Bangladeshi visual arts initiatives, to give to participants a comprehensive outlook on the local scene.
